About Aberdeen City Centre

Aberdeen also known as the Granite City, the Grey City or the Silver City with the Golden Sands, is the third most populous city in Scotland, UK, one of Scotland's 32 local government council areas and the United Kingdom's 29th most populous city, having more than 210 000 people, living within its limits. Since 1319, when it received Royal Burgh status from Robert the Bruce, Aberdeen has economically transformed, boasting with beautiful landmarks and appealing attractions, drawing, today, a record number of tourists.

Archaeological evidences suggest that the area where the city currently stands has seen human settlement for at least 8,000 years. Since its beginning, when it started as two separate burghs - Old Aberdeen, at the mouth of the river Don, and New Aberdeen, a fishing and trading settlement, where the Denburn waterway entered the river Dee estuary - and, after a layered, rich history of happenings, Aberdeen has become one of Britain's main attractions.

Aberdeen's beauty is surrounded by Victorian architecture, beautiful landmarks which keep its history alive and numerous attractions for all tastes and ages, binding modern with authentic, looking ahead, but keeping one foot in the past.
